Big-up all who were at Escape tonight. Sweet Jesus, what a party!

Antibalas was the shit. That crew sounds so much like my old Fela records that it's ridiculose, but that's just about the best sound you could bring. Original tunes though, on point stage presence - one of the best live bands you could check. Such a bumba-shaking good time that even the jam band hippies were heating up their little tams. Big-up Cleerance fam, the Red Melissa squad, Alkaline, 2/3rds of the Escape/Chinatown set, and the rest. . .

Part 2 of the Charley Rosen piece. Nice to hear from Drazen (smart words too) - I always liked him on the Nets.
Scifen comes with the next shit once again. At US$56 a pop, I think they're going to sell approximately 0 of these, but I give them props for being ahead in the retro game once again. This crewneck sweatshirt is mad ugly, but it brings back the early 90s. Remember those XXL Chicago Bulls shirts your cousin used to rock with big Bulls logos and big "Chicago"s in 'graffiti' or 'decaying' typefaces all over the thing, even all the way down the back? Those were the hotness for 5 minutes in the summer of '91. And Scifen is bring that summer back. Soon we'll all be sporting baseball caps with the silver plate up front that says "Raiders". Again.

Part 1 of a Charley Rosen piece on how an NBA gameday really goes down. Love reading about the things that the best do to put their performances together. And who would have guessed that Rudy "Glass Joe" Tomjanovich sleeps like me. . .
A cuttin Gilles Peterson documentary on the heavy music coming out of Philly right now. Talks with ?uestlove, Jazzy Jeff, Jill Scott, and a noice soundtrack. 30 minutes well spent.
